Halloween 2014

Whose had a few too many fun size pieces of chocolate? Bella isn’t allowed to eat chocolate yet and we bought way too much candy, so yeah…I’ll be eating way more candy than I should.

We’ve had a festive few weeks, culminating with trick or treating for the first time! I really wasn’t sure how Bella would do, but she picked it up pretty quickly. We went with our neighbors across the street. She did a great job imitating them and after a few houses knew to jump out of her stroller and run towards the houses when we stopped. One of us would go with her to help get up and down stairs and show her how to open her bag, but she loved it! She also figured out how to open up two dum dums and proceeded to do all of her trick or treating while double fisting her first lollipop(s).

Her very first trick or treating stop!

This is the only picture I have with the dum dums. Taken with the other 80s aerobics instructor in the neighborhood!

IMG_5042She did so well and I know next year we will be staying out much later than 7 pm. I think she could have kept going but we decided to turn around for home at 6:45 so that we were at least close to bedtime. Glad we’ve made some neighbor friends to enjoy Halloween with!

Before we started with the costumes, she also had fun emptying the candy bucket that we had filled for Trick or Treaters. Hopefully no one minded squished snickers bars.

Since I’m apparently recapping our Halloween in reverse, Bella also had a Halloween party at school! Unfortunately, when I showed up, she wanted to sit with me instead of interacting with her class. I did manage to get a few pictures though once they went outside and she was preoccupied with snack.

Last week, we went to the pumpkin patch and painted pumpkins with the neighbors.

This was our first time paining pumpkins outside of daycare, although it was across the street rather than at our house. She did great but then turned around and grabbed the back of their chair. I had a mini heart attack but thankfully it washed right off. Note to self: no paint near fabric.

It’s been fun watching her interact with the holidays more and more and I think by the time December rolls around she’ll really be into it!
